Evolution of a Parka

So after finalizing a design for my Ponysona, I decided to make a comparison to show the designs before it.

1. Radar Parka: With this one, I aimed for one that looked like me most. So I gave her my current hair style. As for the red, My hair was red not too long ago. Also, on a few websites, my screen name is Radar (Which explains part of the name too) And I always, always have a red themed layout on my Radar accounts. So I wanted to make her match that too. But pink is the colour a lot of people identify me with now. So then I gave her the scarf.
As for her cutie mark, A heart over a 9 pointed star, it's to symbolize my passion to create and my connection to my faith. The 9 pointed star is the symbol of my religion like how the cross is known as a symbol for Christianity. Also, I've always loved Astronomy. So the star has a double meaning there.

2. Unnamed: It didn't take me very long to dislike the first design. Sure, it looked like me. But that was it. I wanted something that showed my personality a bit more and expressed what I'm working toward, rather than what I am.
So then I gave her the long hair. The white skin was for-... Well. I'm very pale. I wanted to put pink in my hair for reason mentioned previously, and the white in the hair is for purity. I've always found white to be intriguing and a couple years ago I almost wore solid white everyday. The cutie mark was just a random one from the Hasbro pony creator. But I picked it for the sense of seeing value in most things.

3. Parka Posy At this point, I decided I wanted my pony to look like she could actually fit into a group of canon ponies. So I shrunk her down (Besides, I'm not that tall. )
For her style, I picked how I want my hair to be mixed with a bit of how my hair curls naturally. As My hair has been growing out, I've been pulling it all to the side. I think I look much better with longer hair- especially curly hair.
As for the colour, I wanted a colour associated with being feminine without being too girly. So that's where I got the purple. For the blue- Since I was about 8 years old, I had an imaginary friend that I considered to be half of me. Since then, she's always been a symbol to represent me. How does that make blue? Well, her hair was blue. She was also the element of water, too.
Aaaaand of course, I had to have the pink. So I gave her pale pink skin.
Her cutie mark is flowers with a hummingbird. The Hummingbird is my spirit animal. The flowers are for how I tend to see the beauty in everything and my desire to create things beautiful.
She does look quite a bit like Rarity... But I'm the most like Rarity out of the mane 6. So that works.




And of course, they all have the same eye shape and colour.
The entire time, though, I was 100% sure that I would be a Unicorn. I've got a bit of a 6th sense that runs very deep in the family. I'm also very religious. Magic and spirituality do kind of fall hand in hand for me. So yeah.

For the Parka name, That's been my nickname in real life for a few years now. Since I wore a Parka-like coat every day for a year (including summer!)
That happened to be the year I switched schools, so people called me Parka until they remembered my real name.
And it kind of stuck.

Its the first nickname that I was ever given by someone else that wasn't some weird spin off my real name. So I've grown pretty fond of it.
